After graduating from Methodist University in three years with degrees in Communications/Mass Media, Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in English, Sherry Overton Shudra has spent the majority of her professional career in the pharmaceutical, clinical trial and medical areas working for and collaborating with companies such GlaxoSmithKline and Bristol Myers Squibb. Sherry was a founder, co-owner and Vice President of Strategic Business Development for Critical Thinking Company Inc., a pharmaceutical training company specializing in new product launches for some of the world’s most profitable pharmaceutical products. She was also the President of Kinlaw and McKenzie Consulting, a healthcare recruiting and training company. During her active professional career, she also held multiple volunteer positions including several medical societies and hospital foundations.

After significant tenure in the pharmaceutical and healthcare areas, Sherry has been devoted to caring for her family and enjoyed leadership roles both at St. Luke United Methodist church and in the community serving on multiple boards, particularly those that involve mission work and programming to benefit children. While her son attended The O’Neal School in Southern Pines, Sherry volunteered on numerous Boards during a period of significant growth. Recently, Sherry returned to school and completed Duke University’s Nonprofit Management Program graduating in Spring 2015 and began a small nonprofit consulting firm, Crescero Inc.

At her church, she has been Chair of both the Nurture and Outreach programs, which incorporate more than 25 separate programs and committees, and held positions as Vice-Chair of Church Council and Chair of After School Care Programs. Sherry is a leader on the active Board of Directors for Boys & Girls Clubs of Sanford/Lee County having served as the President and Chief Volunteer Officer, carrying out responsibilities on committees with a focus towards Governance, Programming, Marketing and Resource Development.

Sherry most enjoys simple volunteer days working with friends to prepare and serve meals at both The Bread Basket and Bread of Life. She also loves animals, especially her sweet golden pound puppy named Bear.
